Will Young hits out at BBC after being axed from ‘The Voice’

'Leave Right Now' singer dropped in favour of The Script's Danny O'Donoghue

Will Young has hit out at the BBC’s decision to axe him from their forthcoming talent show The Voice.

Young had been lined up to sit on the voting panel, but a last-minute change has seen his place go to The Script‘s Danny O’Donoghue instead.

Young told the Daily Star Sunday: “They wanted to go more rock.”

He added: “Of course I’m disappointed not to be doing the show, not to mention how it’s been handled.

“But the support from fans has been overwhelming. They really have been amazing.”

O’Donoghue will join Tom Jones, Jessie J and will.i.am as coaches on The Voice, which will be hosted by Holly Willoughby and Reggie Yates.

The American version of ‘The Voice’ features Cee Lo Green, Maroon 5‘s Adam Levine and Christina Aguilera on the panel.
