Band showcase their love of horror movies in blood-filled new video
Wolf Alice are attacked by zombies, an axe murderer and an evil clown in the video for new single ‘You’re A Germ’.
The grindhouse-inspired video is available to watch below. Directed by Chris Grieder, the video sees the band alone in a wooden cabin, planning their survival routes out of various horror clichés.
“We are big fans of horror movies, terrified of them no doubt, but massive fans all the same,” the band said in a statement. “We always buy one on the road to watch together on long drives – we have figured out who will die first in the zombie apocalypse that is undoubtedly gonna happen, Joff can do a brilliant Leatherface from The Texas Chain Saw Massacre impression and it was only a matter of time before we made our own.”
Wolf Alice released their debut album ‘My Love Is Cool’ in June. It is among the bookies’ favourites to win the Mercury Prize this year.
The band have described the record as a “mix of genres”, with singer Ellie Rowsell telling NME that “it’s 100 per cent not a grunge record, it’s a much braver record than that”.
Wolf Alice tour the UK in September, with gigs scheduled in Bristol, Birmingham, Glasgow, Newcastle, Sheffield, Southampton and Manchester. They also play Reading and Leeds festivals later this month.
