Wolf Alice’s Ellie Rowsell has a harrowing night out in the video for ‘Sadboy’

A house party goes very wrong for the frontwoman

Wolf Alice have shared a video for new single ‘Sadboy’.

The track is taken from the band’s second album ‘Visions Of A Life‘, which was released last year. In a five-star review, NME said: “With ‘Visions Of A Life’ Wolf Alice are removing any doubt about their status in the UK music scene. Best band in Britain? 100 per cent.”

In the clip, front woman Ellie Rowsell coughs up a black liquid at a house party, before passing out and waking up in a Stranger Things-esque oblivion. Watch it below.

The group are due to begin a headline tour of the US on March 16, kicking off in Berkeley, California. They will also support Queens Of The Stone Age on a handful of dates Stateside, before returning to the the UK and Europe to support Foo Fighters and appear at festivals including TRNSMT, Latitude, and Reading & Leeds. Wolf Alice recently shared a cover of Charli XCX‘s ‘Boys’, giving the track a unique twist. Recorded for Australian radio station Triple J’s Like A Verson series, the four-piece melded the acclaimed 2017 track with The Cure‘s classic ‘Boys Don’t Cry’.

Discussing her love of the pop star, Rowsell recently said: “I just love her balls out pop music, she’s a great performer and there’s always this kind of excitement and thrill surrounding her. She puts fun into everything she does.”
