RZA ROLLS HIS OWN

Wu Tang Clan man's movie and concept album; new Wu-Tang album before end of 1999...

Wu Tang Clan‘s RZA has produced, written, directed, financed and starred in his own feature film, Bobby Digital. He has also written a themed solo album, ‘Bobby Digital In Stereo’.

RZA is now talking to US distributors in a bid to get a December release. It is not yet known whether it will be shown over here.

He told NME: “Making music is easy for me but making a film is something new. I feel quite shy about it. I don’t know if I’ve done a good job or a bad job!”

An action-style movie, RZA plays a party animal who becomes a super-powered ghetto celebrity.

The ‘Bobby Digital…’ album, which is not a soundtrack but a concept album inspired by the film, is set for release November 16 and features contributions from fellow Wu-Tang members Method Man, Ol’ Dirty Bastard and Master Killa. RZA said other solo Wu Tang releases were due out, including a new Method Man album next month and an album of RZA’s female collaborators called ‘Black Shampoo’. A new Wu-Tang album could be also be released before the end of next year.
