Yeah Yeah Yeahs singer has recorded theme for Starz' 'Flesh and Bone'

Karen O of Yeah Yeah Yeahs has covered Animotion’s ‘Obsession’ for a new ballet-themed US TV series.

O’s version of the 1984 song will feature on Starz show Flesh and Bone which stars Sarah Hays and tells the dark story of an elite ballet company. It was created by Breaking Bad‘s Moira Walley-Beckett and begins on November 8.

Karen O released her debut solo album ‘Crush Songs’ in September of last year via Julian Casablancas’ Cult Records label. ‘Crush Sounds’ was recorded between 2006 and 2007 and is described as a “collection of lo-fi, bedroom recordings”.

Since then, the lead singer of the NYC band has given birth to her first child. She uploaded a photo of her newborn son to the social networking site last month (September) with a caption quoting Roberta Flack’s rendition of ‘The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face’. See that post below.

Karen O is married to director Barnaby Clay, who has also worked with Gnarls Barkley and Depeche Mode, as well as shooting the Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ video for ‘Zero’.
