You Me At Six set for first Number One with new album ‘Cavalier Youth’

British band on course for top spot with their latest album

You Me At Six are set for first ever Number One as they race to the top of the Official Albums Chart at this week’s midway stage with their new album ‘Cavalier Youth’.

Official Chart Company data reveals that the band look set to hit Number One ahead of the current Number One, Ellie Goulding‘s ‘Halcyon’. The final chart will be revealed on BBC Radio 1 this Sunday (February 2). You Me At Six’s last two albums have both crashed the Top Five with 2010’s ‘Hold Me Down’ peaking at Number Five and ‘Sinners Never Sleep’ reaching Number Three in 2011.

There are eight other new entries on this week’s Official Albums Chart Update with US metal band Of Mice & Men new at Number Six today with their new album ‘Restoring Force’. Meanwhile, The Rifles are new at Number 12 with their new album ‘None The Wiser’. Other new entries are due from Skindred (15), Sheryl Crow (25), Ageir (26), Transatlantic (28), David Crosby (30) and Paul Rodgers (32).

Elsewhere, in the Official Singles Chart Clean Bandit‘s one-week reign at the top spot is being threatened by will.i.am. The Voice coach is currently at Number Two in the chart with his track ‘Feelin’ Myself’, a collaboration with Miley Cyrus and Wiz Khalifa, trailing behind Clean Bandit’s ‘Rather Be’.

Other new entries at this week’s midpoint stage come from Gorgon City (Three), Katy B (Five), Chris Malinchak (16) and Sophie Ellis-Bextor (36).
