You Me At Six have unveiled the first single from their upcoming fourth album, which is due in the New Year (2014).
Titled ‘Lived A Lie’, the track premiered on Zane Lowe’s BBC Radio 1 show last night (September 2) and became available to download from midnight. At the time of writing (September 3), it has climbed all the way to Number Two on the UK’s iTunes chart behind Katy Perry’s ‘Roar’ – listen to it it above.
‘Lived A Lie’ is the band’s first slice of new material since their pair of headline shows at London’s Wembley Arena in December 2012. They released their third and most recent album, ‘Sinners Never Sleep’, in 2011.
The band’s debut album ‘Take Off Your Colours’ came out in 2008, followed by second LP ‘Hold Me Down’ in 2010. All three of the band’s albums have earned gold discs in the UK but ‘Lived A Lie’ looks set to become their biggest hit yet on the UK’s Official Singles Chart. Their best chart position to date is a Number 21 peak for ‘Rescue Me’ in 2011.
