My Bloody Valentine to record two new albums My Bloody Valentine Tickets

Kevin Shields returns to the studio 17 years after the release of 'Loveless'

My Bloody Valentine's Kevin Shields has confirmed that the band are set to record two new albums.

After playing a headline set at ATP New York on September 21, Shields said that he wants to restart work on songs written for the band's aborted third album.

The last LP the group released was 'Loveless' in November 1991.

"I realised that all that stuff I was doing in 1996 and 1997 was a lot better than I thought," he told The New York Times.

Shields now plans to finish that record, before starting work on another completely new album this autumn.

Shields added that the band have spent £200,000 on equipment for their current tour.

My Bloody Valentine played their first gig in 16 years in London in June this year.

Here's an idea Kevin: how about finally remastering your earlier work and rereleasing it?How about collecting all those EPs that get crazy money on ebay into a nice affordable box set so people will stop having to pay $50 for the You Made Me Realise EP in a cardboard sleeve?A new album is far less important that preserving your legacy in a proper manner.

Ive been a fan of MBV since 1988 ( yes i know that makes me old) and im used to playing the waiting game...when Kevin says next year, he means "in 5 years time".......i'll be a pensioner by the time he reaches record no. 4!

I saw MBV this past Monday, Sept. 22nd, at Roseland in NYC... my ears are still ringing!!! It was a great show. I was so happy to experience it. They were in top form.As far as remastering the old stuff, the only thing I need is Geek.I'm on the fence when it comes to keeping MBV's legacy intact vs. new material.
