My Bloody Valentine to play 'secret' LA show

The band warm up for their Coachella performance this weekend

My Bloody Valentine are set to play a string of shows in the US following their appearance at the Coachella Festival next month. The band, who reformed last year after 16 years away, will perform shows in Austin, Dallas, Denver and Seattle in the week following the Californian event, which will also see performances by Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Franz Ferdinand and Morrissey. My Bloody Valentine are set to perform a "secret" Coachella Festival warm-up show at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles on Thursday night (April 16).

The band, who will headline the main stage at Coachella on Sunday (April 19), the final night of the festival, have not officially announced the show, but tickets are currently available through Ticketmaster.

Bands that perform at Coachella are usually not permitted to play shows in the Los Angeles area immediately preceding or following their Coachella performances, but occasional exceptions are made. Last year, Portishead gave an intimate pre-festival show at the Mayan Theatre in downtown Los Angeles, and The Jesus And Mary Chain warmed up at the Pomona Glass House just before Coachella 2007.
