My Bloody Valentine played a two-hour set at Glasgow’s Barrowland on Saturday night (March 9) as their UK tour continued.

Kevin Shields and co opened with 'I Only Said', one of six tracks taken from their seminal 1991 album, 'Loveless'. Somewhat surprisingly, the set was light on material from the band's highly-acclaimed new album, 'm b v’ with only 'new you', 'only tomorrow' and the closing 'wonder 2' (on which drummer Colm Ó Cíosóig came out from behind the kit to play guitar) making the cut. Nevertheless, the new material slotted in seamlessly with the old, and was well-received by the crowd.

The group also found room for a handful of tracks from debut album 'Isn't Anything', along with lesser-known EP tracks 'Honey Power' and 'Cigarette In Your Bed'.

The penultimate song's 'You Made Me Realise''s now-legendary "holocaust section" lasted for 10 punishing minutes; the crushing volume necessitated earplugs to be handed out to the audience before the gig.

My Bloody Valentine played:

'I Only Said'
'When You Sleep'
'New You'
'You Never Should'
'Honey Power'
'Cigarette In Your Bed'
'Only Tomorrow'
'Come In Alone'
'Only Shallow'
'Thorn'
'Nothing Much To Lose'
'To Here Knows When'
'Slow'
'Soon'
'Feed Me With Your Kiss'
'You Made Me Realise'
'Wonder 2'

My Bloody Valentine play Manchester's Apollo tonight (March 10) before performing two nights at London's Hammersmith Apollo (12, 13).
