My Chemical Romance work with Green Day producer
Band want to "move world" with third album
It will be the follow up to their double CD/DVD package ’Life On The Murder Scene’, and the first new material since 2004’s ’Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge’.
In a statement bassist Mikey Way said of the album: “Even though ’Three Cheers’ hadn’t been out that long, we could hardly wait to jump into album three.”
He added: "We want this to be the album that My Chemical Romance is remembered for. We all have records that shaped our childhood and teen years. When you hear a song, it shoots you back to a moment in time. We want this album to do that for people. We want the entire world to be moved."
The as-yet-untitled album was produced by Green Day producer Rob Cavallo.
Guitarist Ray Toro added: "Sonically, Rob is a master. It is a joy to watch him craft tones that make your song sound like you always dreamed it would."
As previously reported by NME.COM, singer Gerard Way has been working on a graphic novel, ’Umbrella Academy’ set to be released next year.
