My Chemical Romance have sent out a oblique message on their website, prompting fans to speculate on their future.

On TheBlackParade.com there is a repeated image of a hospital monitor’s flatline and the message “00 BPM” on the bottom right hand side of the screen.

The band played as fictional group The Black Parade during their world tour earlier this year with singer Gerard Way telling the crowd on the opening night of a show in Plymouth : “We are The Black Parade.”

Fans have suggested that the message does not indicate the end of the band but the end of the ’Black Parade’ era.

On fansite Unleash The Bats, user Differentmind wrote: “I actually think that is pretty clever if they are referring to the fact that The Black Parade is supposedly dead.”

Meanwhile Jennasie wrote: “It’s because they will never play as The Black Parade ever again so they are like..dead. Flat lining.”

WTF? My Chemical Romance is NOT DEAD! Dream on Haters. The Black Parade has come to an end, That is what we think, but do not know for sure. And they are NOT EMO! So STFU! umm MCR have fans of ALL ages, sizes, races, and just all walks of life, I myself am 34 years old and happily married, and in love with the band. I know of a 50 year old man that loves MCR just as much as I do, yes there are little teenage fans that love Gerard, that comes with any form of celebrity, but to state that young teenies are the only fans they have is false.

Actually this may have some truth to it. Gerard Way hinted at overal "band fatigue" and "taking a two year or longer break" after the Black Parade Tour was over in a Radio Interview before they played earlier this month in Hawaii. I have tried to access MCR website on 2/1/08 no response. I hope this means that they are updating the site, but they could be trying to distance themselves from TBP. They have had one hell of a year - illnesses, injuries, marriages and everything else- who would blame them for a complete change?!!!!!

my chemical romance are great. there are lots of good songs and i heard they where making a new album soon so i don't think it is the end of my chemical romance because there song are very good. So they might be getting ready to play new songs witch could be on the new album. I don't think it is the end of my chemical romance because they have 3 albums and they are liked by alot of people. But some people don't like my chemical romance and want them to go but i like my chemical romance and what you listen to i might not like. There are people who say my chemical romance are rubbish and there should be better music but they are a popular band. You can mostly ask anyone if they have heard of my chemical romance and i think over 50% of them will say they like my chemical romance or they have heard the name. I am called emo because i like my chemical romance but i am not and most people think if you like my chemical romance you are emo but not everyone is.

If you don't like My Chemical Romance, then don't read comments about them! Personally, I love them (as any MCR fan will be able to tell my username) and think they are the best band ever and don't really care what people who hate them think. I hope that's the same for all MyChem fans.

Well i'm sorry to break the news to anyone who doesn't like them but the flatline indicates the end of The Black Parade and they are working on a new album now and started playing one song in concerts as early as November 2007.
Sorry if it disappoints any of you emophobics... MCR aren't emo by the way... but they are far from dead!

ok to those people who have jst come on here to say "thank god for that mcr r dead" well i would jst lyk to tell you that mcr are not dead due to the fact that they are working on a new album, its not the end of the band its jst the end of the black parade, i mean if it was the end of mcr i wouldnt have been able 2 go and see them play with mindless self indulgence. THIS BAND SAVED MY LIFE!!!!! and you know they saved the lives of many other people, if it was the end of the band then many fans would be lost without them and they know that so jst to say to those who think this band is a load of rubbish then ur wrong.

It wasn't meant to be a cryptic message. It's a marketing ploy for their new CD/DVD called "The Black Parade is Dead" which is supposed to be released on April 22, 2008. it really has nothing to do with the black parade era ending or anythng like that. It's all marketing.

my friend tamika worried me by saying that the flatline either ment the new dvd the black parade is dead or that my chemical romance have called it a day and are spliting up, there have been rumors going round and an interview (apparently) saying that MCR have said "they became to famous to quickly" I dont know what this means and i am now 100% sure that the flatline means the new dvd. after all MCR wouldn't split straight after all the comotion of the suicide cult issue. without mcr is how we disapear
