My Chemical Romance have finished recording their new album – and you can hear frontman Gerard Way talking about the LP on NME.COM below.

Way revealed that the band had completed the follow-up to 2006's 'The Black Parade' on their "second attempt".

"We just finished the album so we're excited about that," he said in an interview at the Comic-Con event in San Diego, California. "It's the second attempt at the album and we're really happy with it."

The as-yet-untitled album could include songs such as 'Bullet Proof Heart' – which references The Killers' 'Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine''Black Dragon Fighting Society' and 'Light Behind Your Eyes', all of which Way told NME about earlier this year.

"People just wanna fucking rock," he explained to NME in January. "I don't know that people want to make statements right now. I can't comment on anybody else's record but I certainly feel something in the air, like, people just want the truth and they don't need a big story."

The release date for the band's fourth studio effort is yet to be announced.

Gerard Way's interview begins at the 7 minutes 30 seconds mark of the video.
