Gerard Way reveals lyrics to new solo song 'Millions'
Former My Chemical Romance frontman also opens up about his new graphic novel 'Danger Days'
Way posted the lyrics to the song on Sunday, July 28, revealing that he had woken from a dream in which he had published the words on an NME messageboard. Upon discovering the messageboard no longer exists, Way decided to give fans the words to 'Millions' anyway.
"I had a dream I had woke up in the middle of the night and put lyrics up to my new song on an NME messageboard. The board no longer exists," tweeted Way.
He then added: "So I'll just put them here. *note- This is a song about a group of jewel thieves. Everything is fine, then everything goes horribly wrong."
Meanwhile, Way has also opened up about his new graphic novel based on My Chemical Romance's last album 'Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys'. Speaking to Rocksound, Way said: "The end of My Chem was the end. This was always intended to come out, maybe not the way it was originally written, but that’s just the case with everything. This is exactly what it was supposed to be. Anything in there that is relevant to the birth or ending of anything is not intentional. It’s the beginning of an awesome comic book career for Shaun, for Becky it’ll be a continuation of an awesome career. For me, it’s gonna be me stepping away from comics. So it’s beginnings and endings in a lot of ways."
My Chemical Romance annouced their split earlier this year. Way posted a huge message to fans stretching to 1,979 words.
His parting comment stated: "My Chemical Romance is done. But it can never die. It is alive in me, in the guys, and it is alive inside all of you. I always knew that, and I think you did too. Because it is not a band – it is an idea." They released four studio albums, starting with 2002's debut 'I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love'. Their second LP, 'Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge', followed in 2004 while follow-up 'The Black Parade' was released in 2006 before the release of 'Danger Days...' three years ago.
