My Morning Jacket perform special set at Lollapalooza
They’re joined by the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra
My Morning Jacket performed a very special set at Lollapalooza in Chicago tonight (August 5).
The band were joined by the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra for their set, which included tracks ‘Golden’, ‘Anytime’ and ‘Just One Thing’.
With their third song completed, Perry Farrell emerged onstage to instruct fans to film fourth track ‘Gideon’ using their mobile phones or digital cameras. Thousands of people in the audience then filmed the track, and will be able to upload it to Current.TV, where the footage will be put together professionally.
In a similar move, around 200 fans filmed a performance from The Shins at last year’s Austin City Limits festival – and at least one shot from every fan was used in the final cut.
