My Morning Jacket's contribution to new compilation of Muppets covers has hit the web - scroll down and click below to hear it.

Titled 'Our World', the song was first heard in 1977 Muppets festive special Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas and has since appeared in stage versions of the Jim Henson production.

It's due to appear on 'Muppets: The Green Album', which will be released in the US on August 23 and precedes the release of the new Muppets movie The Muppets.

Weezer, Paramore's Hayley Williams and Evanescence's Amy Lee have also contributed tracks to the LP, along with Alkaline Trio and Ok Go.

Earlier this year, My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James revealed that his original material had been rejected from Muppets projects twice previously.

He explained that a handful of tracks on the band's latest album 'Circuital' were written for a Gorillaz-style Muppets project that didn't get off the ground.

Meanwhile, two of his other original compositions were apparently rejected for the soundtrack of The Muppets movie.

"Twice, Muppet glory has been within my grasp. It's pretty heartbreaking," he told Rolling Stone.

My Morning Jacket are due to perform at Latitude festival on Saturday (July 16) before headlining Someset House in London the following day (17).
