Mystery Jets pen song for Syd Barrett

It's on their new EP

Mystery Jets are set to release ’Scarecrows In The Rain’ -a song they wrote about recently deceased Pink Floyd legend Syd Barrett.

The track is due to be featured on the band’s new EP ’Diamonds In The Dark’, which is released on September 4.

The Syd Barrett track has been described as ‘West Coast psyche pop’ in a statement.

The title track of the EP, ’Diamonds In The Dark’, is a re-recorded version of the song that originally appeared on their ’Making Dens’ album. The band worked with Kaiser Chiefs producer Stephen Street on the track.

The EP also includes the tracks ’Crosswords’, ’A Private Place’, which features members of Rumblestrips, and ’Diamonds’, which is covered by Kid Harpoon.
