Mystery Jets have been forced to cancel three further festival appearances as singer/guitarist Blaine Harrison recovers from illness.

Harrison is suffering from ailments on his feet related to the Spina Bifida he suffers, and is currently in hospital following treatment.

As a result the band have now had to cancel their appearances at London's Underage Festival (August 8), Field Day (9) and Leicester's Summer Sundae (10).

As previously-reported on NME.COM, the band are also unable to perform at the Haldern festival in Germany tomorrow (August 7) and at the Ripcurl festival in Cornwall on Friday (August 8).

The band are tentatively announcing their scheduled appearances at the Reading And Leeds Festivals – on August 23 and 24 on the respective sites – as their comeback gigs.

"At this point in time it is impossible to say when we will be back on full fighting form, but I'd say Reading and Leeds are definitely as good a goal as any," Harrison said in a statement.

He continued: "I want to apologise to our fans who were looking forward to some Mystery Jets love this weekend at Summer Sundae and at Y Not and Kendall last weekend too, And to those who had planned to see us at Haldern and Newquay.

"Believe me, I would swap my intravenous drip and shitty hospital lasagne to be there any day of the week.

"P.S if anyone has any good ideas as how to kill some time (hint: 'Prison Break' season II) please post suggestions to our management's offices. Nice one."
