Were it not for a vigilant parent, the pop sensations could have blown away...

*NSYNC could all have been killed this weekend for "getting all the good girls", were it not for a vigilant mother discovering detailed plans and preventing her son from robbing an arms shop and gunning down the record-breaking quintet.

According to www.launch.com[/url], a 17-year-old Tennessee teenager was plotting to rob a local gun shop "killing its employees if necessary", before travelling to Atlanta to meet *NSYNC on the night of their concert at the Philips Arena. He then planned to kill *NSYNC.

Speaking to a local newspaper, Sheriff Captain Don Linzy says the unnamed boy was acting alone: "Everything in the writings indicates he was the only one. It was always 'I' this and 'I' that, there was never any 'we'." Making a link to the Columbine shootings, Linzy praises the teenager's mother for her actions. "I know it's never an easy thing to do, but she did the right thing in alerting authorities. She found something disturbing and took action."

Linzy explains that in the teenager's notes the general theme was that "The group gets all the good girls".
