NAPSTER'S CHART ATTACK!

NAPSTER and VIRGIN RADIO are launching an online music chart.

The show will count down the Top 20 tracks taken each week from Napster’s catalogue of 750,000 songs, and will be based on permanent downloads, full-length streams and subscription downloads.

Napster’s announcement follows that of a chart put together by the Official Chart Company.

Launching on September 1, their chart also hopes to capitalise on the huge success of downloading across the UK in the wake of the launch of legal download services this year.

The company has signed a two year deal with ‘Coca-Cola’ and will collate data from many of the biggest legal music download sites in the UK including www.mycokemusic.com, Napster and iTunes.
