NEIL'S CROWDED HOUSE

The stars line up to assist the former Crowded House frontman at his five-night stint in Auckland...

NEIL'S CROWDED HOUSE
Ex-CROWDED HOUSE singer NEIL FINN has confirmed he will be joined by members of RADIOHEAD, EDDIE VEDDER, BETH ORTON and ex-SMITHS guitarist JOHNNY MARR on his forthcoming residency in AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND.

Finn is to play five nights at the St James venue in Auckland from April 2-6. He wrote to a number of musicians he admired, asking them to perform alongside him at the event.

Artists now confirmed to appear include Radiohead guitarist and drummer Ed O'Brien and Phil Selway, Beth Orton and ex-Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr. Friend and Pearl Jam vocalist Eddie Vedder will complete the line-up.

Speaking previously about his connection with Radiohead, Finn said: "The first time I met Ed (O'Brien) was at a festival in Europe and Radiohead had just been signed to Parlophone - it was pre-'Creep' and they were playing bridge in the dressing room...

"So I just went in to say hello and they were all playing bridge - which I thought was incredibly impressive for a band of young musicians who you might imagine at that point might be seriously indulging. But they were indulging in the music and I think that's why they got so good. They didn't abuse themselves, they abused their instruments."
Finn will return to the UK following the release of his second solo album 'One Nil' on April 9 via Parlophone. He will tour the UK and Ireland, calling at:

Belfast Waterfront (April 21)
Dublin Olympia (22)
Glasgow Royal Concert Hall (23)
Newcastle City Hall (24)
Cambridge Corn Exchange (26)
Nottingham Royal Concert Hall (27)
Sheffield City Hall (29)
Bristol Colston Hall (30)
Portsmouth Guildhall (May 2)
London Shepherd's Bush Empire (3-4)
Ipswich Regent Theatre (10)
Manchester Apollo (11)
Birmingham Symphony Hall (12)

It is currently unclear who will form Finn's live band in the UK.
