Neil Young plays rarities at first UK show in five years

The legend plays a half-acoustic, half-electric set

Neil Young played rare and unreleased material at his first UK show in five years last night (March 3).

The half-acoustic, half-electric set at Edinburgh Playhouse featured the likes of the previously unreleased ‘Sad Movies’ and ‘Try’, which was scheduled to appear on his aborted album ‘Homegrown’ in the early 70s, but was then shelved.

Other acoustic highlights included a version of ‘Ambulance Blues’ from his classic 1974 album ‘On The Beach’ , while the electric set featured classics like ‘Down By The River’ and set closer ‘Cinnamon Girl’.
