Neil Young cancels LA show tonight (Oct 30)
Veteran rocker supports union picketers
Neil Young has announced that he is canceling his show scheduled for tonight (October 30) at the Forum in Los Angeles.
The veteran rocker said that he is nixing the show out of respect for picketing union workers from the International Association of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE), who are involved in a contract dispute with the venue's owner.
"I am extremely disappointed to have to choose between satisfying my fans or backing my brothers and sisters of the IATSE," Young said in a statement.
Death Cab For Cutie were set to open the show.
The date will be rescheduled for sometime in 2009, and ticket holders will be able to get refunds at the point of purchase, reports Reuters.
