Neil Young victim of Twitter porn hack

The musician's social networking account was tweeting NSFW images and text

Neil Young was the victim of a Twitter porn hack over the weekend, with his social networking account taken over by pornographic tweets and NSFW images.

John Hamm, the CEO of Young's PonoMusic company confirmed the hacking to Mashable, adding that the account was now back in the control of the singer's management. The account has now been restored with all pornographic tweets deleted.

On Saturday (June 7) a message from the account read: "Please disregard my last few tweets. This account was hacked, but it has now been resolved and taken care of."

Last month Young released a surprise covers album. The record, titled 'A Letter Home', is available now from Jack White's Third Man Records. It features covers of tracks Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, The Everly Brothers and more. Young recorded the album in a refurbished 1947 Voice-o-Graph vinyl recording booth at the Third Man shop in Nashville, Tennessee.

Neil Young will play London Hyde Park on July 12 and Liverpool Echo Arena on July 13 with his band Crazy Horse. In London they'll be joined at Barclaycard British Summer Time by special guests The National, Tom Odell, Caitlin Rose, Phosphorescent and Flyte.

Neil Young and Crazy Horse will play:

London Hyde Park (July 12)
Liverpool Echo Arena (13)
