Information has emerged suggesting that Neil Young is preparing a new studio album entitled 'Storytone' for release in November.

Posting on fansite, fans noted that German composer and producer Chris Walden had updated his 'recent projects' to include "upcoming Neil Young album 'Storytone' (out Nov 4)".

Music contractor Gina Zimmitti has also recently posted photos of the pair working together in the studio, confirming the collaboration. Uploading on to her Facebook account, Zimmitti posted a reference to some "awesomely loud big band arrangements" as well as a photo of Young's converted 1959 LincVolt car.

The post also shows Young and Walden to be working with producer Niko Bolas, who has previously worked with Young on tracks including 1989's 'Rockin' In The Free World' and 2006's 'Living With War'.

Speaking earlier this year to Billboard, Young expressed an interest in recording an orchestral-based album. "I'd like to make a record with a full-blown orchestra, live – a mono recording with one mic," he said. "I want to do something like that where we really record what happened, with one point of view and the musicians moved closer and farther away, the way it was done in the past. To me, that's a challenge and it's a sound that's unbelievable, and you can't get it any other way. So I'm into doing that."

Meanwhile, this April, Young released a surprise covers album on Jack White's Third Man Records label. Entitled 'A Letter Home', it featured songs by Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen and Willie Nelson, and was recorded in a refurbished 1947 Voice-O-Graph vinyl recording booth at the Third Man shop in Nashville, Tennessee.
