Listen to new Neon Neon track exclusively on NME.COM
'Wheels' was originally recorded during the 'Stainless Style' sessions
You can listen to the previously unheard song 'Wheels' exclusively through NME.COM. Scroll down to hear it.
The new song from Super Furry Animals frontman and solo artist Gruff Rhys and electronic artist Boom Bip, was originally recorded in sessions for Neon Neon's debut album, the Mercury Music Prize nominated 'Stainless Style', which was released in 2008.
The duo will return to the studio to start work on their second album in 2012. When 'Stainless Style' was released, Rhys cast doubt over the possibility of a second album, saying: "I don't know about making another Neon Neon album because it was quite a specific record about (John) DeLorean's life story… If we did something in the future it would have to be something different. But it's nice that it did well and we get to play it live."
'Wheels' is being released as part of the 'Complex' compilation, which celebrates the 10th anniversary of Lex Records. It also includes DOOM's collaboration with Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead, 'Retarded Fren'.
