LORDS OF THE 'LAPDANCE'!

Top production outfit the NEPTUNES launched their debut album 'IN SEARCH OF...' at a LONDON lapdancing club last night (May 22).

Core members Pharell Williams and Chad Hugo were on hand at the exclusive Mayfair Club on Berkeley Square as the record, released under their NERD moniker, was played against a backdrop of pole dancing and a little lapdancing.

Speaking briefly, the pair, who have worked with acts such as Jay Z, Kelis, the Wu-Tang Clan's errant guide Ol' Dirty Bastard, Mystikal and Usher explained why the album will appear as N.E.R.D (No-one Ever Really Dies) rather than the more familiar Neptunes.

N.E.R.D is what we are, Neptunes is what we do," they said. "It's like Peter Parker and Spiderman."

'In Search Of...' will be released through Virgin in the coming weeks, though no release date has been finalised. A single, 'Lapdance', will precede it.
