Producers are going back to the start of the fantasy series
The next installment of The Chronicles Of Narnia film series will be The Magician’s Nephew.
Producers have revealed that rather than following up The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader with the next book in the series, The Silver Chair, they are instead planning to make the series’ prequel.
The Magician’s Nephew was the sixth book of the CS Lewis series. However, the action in it takes place before the events of The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe, telling the story of how the magic wardrobe was first created.
Walden Media chief Michael Flaherty told The Christian Post: “We are starting to talk to Fox and talk to the CS Lewis estate now about The Magician’s Nephew being our next film. If we can all agree to move forward, then what we would do is find someone to write the script. So, it could still be a couple of years.”
There had been some doubt about whether a fourth Narnia film would even be made following the relatively poor box office performance of The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader.
