Rolled up $20 found near Heath Ledger

The actor also had an eerie connection to Nick Drake

An autopsy on Heath Ledger's body has proven inconclusive, police said today (January 23).

Police also said that they discovered a rolled up $20 bill near Ledger's body, although no illegal drugs were found in his apartment.

The bill was being taken to a lab for testing, although no visible drug residue was on it, reports the Associated Press.

The Australian actor was found dead in his New York City apartment yesterday at the age of 28, as previously reported.

Ledger's affinity for English singer-songwriter Nick Drake, who died in 1974 of a drug overdose at the age of 26, has also come to light.

In an interview last year at the Venice Film Festival, Ledger said that he was "obsessed with (Drake's) story and his music".

Ledger recently shot and edited a music video for the Drake song 'Black Eyed Dog' in which Ledger is seen drowning himself in a bathtub. It is also reportedly the last song Drake recorded before overdosing on antidepression medication, reports MTV News.

Fans have been gathering near Ledger's Manhattan apartment to pay their respects and leave flowers and candles.

The actor recently portrayed Bob Dylan in the biopic 'I'm Not There'. He was also the cofounder of record label Music Masses Co with singer Ben Harper, and directed Harper's video for the song 'Morning Yearning'.
