Band to quit after 2009 gigs?

Trent Reznor has said Nine Inch Nails' 2009 gigs will be their last "for the foreseeable future".

Writing on nin.com, Reznor offered little explanation as to why the band would stop touring, but did say he wanted to try a "different approach" to playing live.

"This was an amazing tour and production - certainly the best thing I've ever been involved with and likely the final tour for Nine Inch Nails on this scale," he said.

"The shows we have announced in 2009, and any more that may be announced, will be a completely different approach with some different personnel, and will likely be the last for the foreseeable future."

As NME.COM previously reported, Nine Inch Nails recently recruited Lostprophets drummer Ilan Rubin to play for them.

Nine Inch Nails' current tour is due to finish in Las Vegas this Saturday (December 13).

The band currently have six shows booked for 2009 in New Zealand and Australia, starting on February 17.

Trent better bring their current tour to the UK as it wouldn't be fair. The current set lists have 30 songs

What rubbish...Everyone forgets that Trent used to go 5 yrs between Albums (yeah I said it) and more importantly tours. We have been spoilt by the last 3 years of constant music and touring from Trent & friends.Don't worry, this is his Life's work, he's not about to stop now. Plus he's trying to get HBO to do a mini series on Year Zero that will lead into YZ Part Two.
