Queens Of The Stone Age and Nine Inch Nails will embark on a co-headline tour of Australia in 2014 with the headliner decided each night by the toss of a coin.

The eight-date tour was announced yesterday via Nine Inch Nails' Tumblr page. In relation to the unique set-up of the gigs, the blog post reads: "The first headline band on stage will be decided each night by the toss of a coin. The eight date run is set to begin at the Sydney Entertainment Centre on 6 March, 2014 and continue on visiting Newcastle, Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane, Auckland and Christchurch."

Brody Dalle, who is married to Queens of The Stone Age frontman Josh Homme, will also appear on all dates of the tour. Dalle, former frontwoman in The Distillers, is due to release her first solo album and has worked on tracks with Strokes guitarist Nick Valensi. The album will be Dalle's first record since Spinnerette's self-titled debut album, which was released in 2009 and will also feature appearances from Shirley Manson of Garbage and Queens Of The Stone Age's Michael Shuman.

Last month, Queens Of The Stone Age's Josh Homme has branded Jay-Z a "kook" after playing at the rapper's Made In America Festival. The band delivered a 13-song set at the Philadelphia bash on September 1 but Homme took issue with the way he and his bandmates were treated before they went on stage.

Meanwhile, at this year's Reading and Leeds Festivals, Reznor lashed out at both the event's promoters and Biffy Clyro by claiming they had both "fucked us" on production. His comments were given short shrift by festival boss Melvin Benn, however, who said: "The truth is there's no truth in the statement. The contract hasn't changed since they signed up to it."
