Scottish actor James McAvoy is being tipped to play the late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain in a new biopic about the singer’s life.
A number of Hollywood-based internet sites and blogs have suggested that the actor, who starred in 'The Last King Of Scotland', released at the beginning of 2007, are suggesting he’s set for the role.
“James is hot property in Hollywood right now,” wrote one prominent Hollywood blogger. “It's felt he would be perfect for the role of Kurt, who was a complex and unpredictable character.”
It is rumoured that the as-yet-untitled biopic will be based on the book ‘Heavier Than Heaven', a biography of Cobain written by Charles Cross.
Cobain was last indirectly depicted on film in unofficial biopic 'Last Days', in which a Cobain-like character was played by Michael Pitt.
