Kurt Cobain's estate suffers £36 million fraud

Nirvana man's earnings used to buy a house

Kurt Cobain’s estate has been the victim of a mass defrauding.

It’s believed that £36 million has been taken from the Nirvana songwriter’s account since 2003, including $3.2 million used to buy a mansion in New Jersey.

Courtney Love claims the majority of the money was taken from a trust fund for their daughter, Frances Bean.

The thieves used Cobain’s social security number to make a number of purchases, and also opened 188 credit cards under Love’s name.

Speaking to The Sun, Love said: “It was fraud after fraud. But nobody believed me until now.

"I did a check on my deceased husband’s social security number and he has a house in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He bought it last year. I would like to know how. He should probably get his ass back home if that is the case.”

Forensic accountants are now investigating the estate.
