Kurt Cobain's death and related events figure prominently in the plot of a film due to be released next year.

Titled A Leonard Cohen Afterworld, the movie is inspired by a lyric in the Nirvana song 'Pennyroyal Tea': "Give me a Leonard Cohen afterworld so I can sigh eternally". The film is in development and is being written and produced by Scott Rosenberg, who wrote Things To Do In Denver When You're Dead, Con Air and Beautiful Girls.

A Leonard Cohen Afterworld is set during the April 1994 weekend of Kurt Cobain's funeral and speculates upon events at his Seattle mansion at that time. The storyline features two Nirvana-worshipping teenagers who become inspired to go on a road trip to Las Vegas while attending the Cobain vigil at the city's Candle Park.
