Courtney Love has offered up Nirvana songs for use on The X Factor.
Love tweeted show producer Simon Cowell and seemed to suggest that contestant Janet Devlin could sing one of her late husband Kurt Cobain’s songs on the talent show. The Hole frontwoman wrote: "@SimonCowell you want some Nirvana songs? @JanetJealousy is from same town as Kurt? I have the perfect idea for that, call me babe."
Digitalspy.co.uk reports that Cobain's ancestors are from the village of Inishative in Northern Ireland which is near to Gortin, where Janet Devlin is from.
Love has owned the rights to Nirvana’s back catalogue since the 1994 death of Cobain. The Sun reports that show bosses are shocked by Love’s offer, considering how hard it is to clear the rights to iconic tracks for use on the programme.
Courtney Love recently stormed offstage during Hole's performance at Brazilian festival SWU (November 13) after a crowd member held up a picture of Cobain.
The singer spotted the picture and told the crowd member that their behaviour was "stupid and rude" and that they didn't have to live with Cobain's "ghost and kid" every day.
