Nirvana members introduce Stevie Nicks performance on 'The Tonight Show' – watch

Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic welcome Fleetwood Mac member to the stage alongside host Jimmy Fallon

Surviving Nirvana members Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic appeared on US TV last night, introducing a performance by Stevie Nicks on The Tonight Show.

Grohl and Novoselic were interviewed by host Jimmy Fallon ahead of Nirvana's induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame later this month. They spoke about their memories of the band, including playing a huge gig in Brazil and the moment 'Weird' Al Yankovic rang asking permission to spoof 'Smells Like Teen Spirit.'

The grunge band's drummer and bassist then introduced a performance by Fleetwood Mac's Stevie Nicks, who played a version of 'Stop Draggin' My Heart Around' with Fallon, who performed in the guise of Tom Petty. Scroll up to see footage of the performance now.

REM frontman Michael Stipe will induct Nirvana into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame at Brooklyn's Barclays Centre tonight (April 10). Novoselic has teased that the surviving members of the band could perform live together when they are inducted.

This year's event marks the first time the general public has been able to attend the ceremony in New York City. Previously, the closed ceremony took place in New York's Waldorf Astoria's grand ballroom.

Artists are eligible for induction 25 years after the release of their first record, meaning Nirvana, who released debut album 'Bleach' in 1989, have been nominated at the first possible opportunity. Last month, original Nirvana drummer Chad Channing said that he would not be inducted with his bandmates.
