Seven-time grand slam tennis champion John McEnroe has covered Nirvana's 'Territorial Pissings', Stereogum reports.

The former world number one performed at the Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett, New York last Saturday night (August 22) alongside his wife Patty Smyth – former frontwoman of the band Scandal – and New York Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist. In the crowd was Saturday Night Live producer Lorne Michaels, Harvey Weinstein, designer Nicole Miller and Broadway theatre owner Jordan Roth.

According to Page Six, Smyth performed a set that included the hits 'Goodbye To You' and 'The Warrior', inviting McEnroe up for the last song. Click below to watch.



In other Nirvana news, the song 'E-Coli', a previously unheard demo recorded by the band, surfaced online earlier this month.

The track is one of a number of Nirvana demos that have been posted in recent months. An early version of 'Sappy' leaked online earlier this year, while a recording alleged to be a demo tape by Kurt Cobain's early band Fecal Matter emerged in August.
