Jon McClure vents his appreciation at the Shockwaves NME Awards

Reverend And The Makers' Jon McClure has said he wants The Enemy to win all the awards they are nominated for at tonight’s Shockwaves NME Awards.

Speaking to NME.COM, McClure said that the band were only one of three in the world he cared about.

“It's a privilege to be sat on a table with The Enemy tonight,” he said, “because post-9/11, they're one of three bands worth caring about.”

“And that's us, The Enemy and MIA. They (The Enemy) should win Best Band, Best Album and Best Live Band because they don't give a fuck.”

For all the awards coverage head to NME.COM/awards now. We have exclusive picture galleries, live webcams, minute-by-minute blogs straight from the ceremony and Big Gig and video interviews with the biggest names at the ceremony.

That's just the beginning - the ceremony is being broadcast on E4 at 11pm (GMT) tonight (February 28), with highlights following tomorrow (29) on Channel 4 from 11.50pm.

Meanwhile, next week's issue of NME - on UK newsstands from March 5 - will contain the ultimate coverage, interviews and photos from the 2008 Shockwaves NME Awards.

Haha love it when Jon McClure has a little outburst...yes reveverand and the makers and the enemy are the only bands worth caring about post-9/11. I only assume that he is deaf!!

Jon McClure clearly doesn't have any taste in music at all. the Enemy are shit, really really shit - as are Reverend & The Makers.

Am I mistaken or is Jon McClure the flatmate of Alex Turner of the Arctic Monkeys? If so could there not be some tension due to his support of The Enemy who recently had negative comments to say about the Monkeys?

The statement surely speaks years about sarcasm of The Rev, if it doesn't then i'm bemused.

The Enemy are a class band and are not afraid to speak out when they see bull s**t, unlike so many suck ass bands out there!
