The Enemy, Dirty Pretty Things and The Paddingtons arrive at Shockwaves NME Awards 2008

The Shockwaves NME Awards 2008 are currently getting underway, with guests starting to arrive ahead of this evening’s ceremony (February 28).

With the event taking place at the IndigO2 in London, we’re about to start dishing out the awards - NME.COM will be bringing you all the action live.

Ahead of the ceremony’s start, we’ve hit the red carpet, catching up with the latest arrivals.

Here’s who is currently making their way down the red carpet:

Tom Clarke, The Enemy
“We came last year when it was at Hammersmith Palais. We just got steaming drunk and danced to Primal Scream. We're playing with the Manics so we'll be down at the gig to watch them. I've never seen Klaxons live so it will be interesting to see them, ‘cause I have got a lot of respect for them. I think they're one of the hardest working bands.”

Anthony Rossomando, Dirty Pretty Things
“We'll be out here for a while caning it on the cigarettes. I'm sure they're gonna be Nazis about it inside! I'm looking forward to seeing Johnny Marr with The Cribs.”

Carl Barat, Dirty Pretty Things
“When was the best awards? Whenever I won, that always makes it better. We're staying for the gig, yeah, I'm excited to see Klaxons.”

Josh Hubbard, The Paddingtons
“What are we doing tonight? We're coming down to the Big Gig later. I'm looking forward to seeing The Cribs and actually the Manics as well. I think we're going to go east to Anthony's [Rossomando] for a party later.”
