The east London band give a particularly raucous introduction

Klaxons have kicked off the Shockwaves NME Awards 2008 with a raucous rendition of their 2006 single 'Atlantis To Interzone'.

The band’s signature tune, which arguably instigated the new rave genre, was the first song to be performed at this evening’s ceremony.

The band, backed by an impressive laser show, were on top form, and delivered a frenzied version of the track.

Klaxons have seen considerable success since their formation in 2005, including winning the Mercury Prize and NME Writers Album Of The Year for their 2007 debut 'Myths Of The Near Future’.
