Shockwaves NME Awards 2008: Zane Lowe wins Best Radio Show

The Zipper beats holds on for yet another year

BBC Radio 1’s Zane Lowe has been voted the winner of the Best Radio Show award at the Shockwaves NME Awards 2008 - continuing his domination of the prize.

It’s another triumph for the DJ, who has picked up the prize for the last four years.

Picking the award up from Reverend And The MakersJon McClure, Lowe said: “Hey everybody, thanks everyone for letting us play whatever we want to play. Thanks to Radio 1 for continuing to believe in us. Thanks for listening and thanks for making the records.”

The other nominees for the Best Radio Show award were Russell Brand (Radio 2, Chris Moyles (Radio 1), Colin Murray (Radio 1 and Jo Whiley (Radio 1).
