The Cribs and Johnny Marr bring a Smiths classic to the Shockwaves NME Awards
The guitar legend joins the Wakefield boys at the IndigO2
Legendary Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr joined up with The Cribs at the Shockwaves NME Awards this evening (February 28) to perform two songs.
The indie supergroup ran through The Cribs’ ‘I’m A Realist’, before covering The Smiths’ ‘Panic’ to massive cheers from the IndigO2 venue.
Marr and The Cribs have frequently performed together on the Shockwaves NME Awards Tour, which has been taking place over the last month, and have reportedly written a number of songs together.
The guitarist has typically joined the Yorkshire trio for the last section of their set at the recent gigs, as he is due to tonight (February 28) when The Cribs open the Shockwaves NME Awards 2008 Big Gig at London’s O2.
