Faris Rotter gets hold of Tom Clarke at Shockwaves NME Awards ceremony

The Horrors' Faris Rotter took a shot at The Enemy as they collected their Best New Band award at the Shockwaves NME Awards tonight (February 28).

The Horrors' frontman was presenting the award with Kimberly Stewart, when he took a shot at the Coventry trio.

"You've got to hand it to these boys," Rotter told the audience. "They're hungry, young and they've defied natural selection."

As The Enemy made their way to the stage, Rotter grabbed their singer Tom Clarke, ruffled his hair and declared: "Look at the little tyke!"

Though not impressed onstage, Clarke later told NME.COM he thought it was a "fair crack", though, in return for the "tyke" reference, he suggested The Horrors man was a "lamppost".

What an arse. Doesn't he know that that evolution bull is meant to be for animals, not humans. This hyprocritical c*** has defied good taste to make anything of himself. The music I buy is about talent........

What did the Horrors win again, oh yes that's right, absolutely fuck all. I am not a massive fan of the enemy but maybe Faris could try and evolve into something other than a posh, self indulgent, art school drop out and try writing some decent tunes.

"the music i buy is about talent" that was clearly an insult to the horrors, having said that the horrors are one of the most exciting bands i've ever seen, last year at the nme indie rock tour they were brilliant,they didn't drag their set.Plus could Tom clarke scale the walls?

The Enemy are mint. Let's just say The Enemy are not the nicest looking people, but they have better songs and an album than the horrors could never make. Tom Clarke is a topp artist. Who does Farris whatever his name is think he is. At the Arctic Monkey's gig at Manchester last year, the audience where throwin Tomato sauce at the Horrors, what does that tell you about them???? xxx

I am a A level biologist and I know that we are all evolving over time, some of us are short and some of us are tall, we all might have come from the same small cell and grown into billions of human beings. Personally I thought Faris was trying to bring some fun into the ceremony, I know awards ceremonies can be boring. I also think that The Enemy have no talent of their own, they sound the same of all the other 'trying to get mainstream indie bands' I've been known to call them 'Chavs trying to fit in with society'. The Horrors on the other hand, now that is talent, you cannot put The Horrors into a certain sub-genre of music, because it doesn't exist, they do their own thing. I've heard that The Horrors can put on a bloody good show; I personally haven't had the chance to go and see them yet but I hopefully will in the future. They don't just play the songs; they include the audience, it keeps them interested. The Horrors are different, not some 'lets follow the crowd' sheep band. So good on them.

HAHA.Faris is immense.The Horrors are better than The Enemy anyway. I was at Arctic Monkeys when they got slated and mostly it was just abit of fun, they were winding up the crowd. They got choosen to support Arctic Monkeys in the first place; what does that tell you about them? (:
