'Time To Pretend' is honoured at Los Angeles ceremony
MGMT's recent single 'Time To Pretend' has been named the Best Breakthrough Track at the NME Awards USA in Los Angeles tonight (April 23).
The Brooklyn duo picked up the prize, voted for by NME's editors, at the El Rey Theatre from Kelly Osbourne.
Revealing their reasons for the award, NME stated the pair's star was very much in the ascent, noting that "they've been pretty much tipped by everyone who's anyone as the hot new thing".
With the British NME Awards already a key event on the global music scene, this year marks the launch of the NME Awards in north America.
