The college boys win at Los Angeles ceremony

Vampire Weekend won Best New Indie/Alternative Band at the NME Awards USA in Los Angeles tonight (April 23).

Following votes fromNME.COM's US users, the Brooklyn band picked up the award, supported by Yahoo! Music, at the ceremony at the El Rey Theatre from guest presenter Danny Masterson.
