Muse celebrate being first band on NME Radio

Muse's Matt Bellamy has hailed NME.COM users for picking 'Knights Of Cydonia' as the first song to be played on NME Radio when the station launched this morning (June 24).

Following a an online poll which saw 3.5 million fans of acts like The Killers, Oasis, The Strokes and more all voting, Muse were the first band to be played at 11am this morning.

Speaking after learning the news Bellamy declared: "Cheers, thanks a lot to all the voters. Nice to know that shortly after the song finished on Earth, the galloping horses and laser beams would have reached Cydonia at the speed of light. Good new station, will be listening."

To tune in simply head to Sky Channel 0184, Virgin Media Channel 975 or listen via NME.COM/Radio, where you will also find NME Radio's schedule, information about the DJs plus details of how you can get involved with requests and more.

The station will be taking requests between 1-2pm (BST) on weekdays, so send in your selections and why you want to hear them to studio@nmeradio.co.uk now.
