Mongrel play free gig in Manchester for NME Radio

Mongrel, the indie/hip-hop collective featuring members of Babyshambles, Reverend And The Makers, Arctic Monkeys and rapper Lowkey, performed at Manchester Moho Live on Saturday (December 6).

Playing to mark the end of NME Radio's month-long broadcast on 87.7FM in Manchester, the free show was heaving as the Reverend and co took to the stage, declaring: "Joe Jong And The Fucking Jing Jang Jong we are not!"

With Mongrel's two female MCs Pariz-1 and Tor also featuring, the crowd were treated to a sneak preview of their debut album 'Better Than Heavy', which is due out in early 2009.

Mongrel played:

'Guess Who's Coming Home'
'Lies'
'Lowkey Freestyle'
'Julian'
'Barcode'
'Pariz1 Freestyle'
'The Menace'
'Jon's Poem'
'For Your Ends'
'Tor Freestyle'
'Hit From The Morning Sun'

The night also featured DJ sets from Dan Propaganda and Embrace's Danny McNamara, as the crowd danced away into the night.
