Bono will take part in a live online chat this Thursday (June 10) in support of the Jubilee 2000 Drop The Debt campaign. The online chat - which takes place at 9 pm GMT - will be hosted by the Jubilee 2000 Drop The Debt site (http://www.dropthedebt.msn.com) and will be simultaneously translated into eight languages.
There is still no news of the planned massive concert mooted at the beginning of the year when the campaigns was launched, but this weekend the Brixton Academy hosted a Comic Relief show with Happy Mondays, Cast and Vic & Bob. There was talk of a massive festival - names dropped were Oasis, Lauryn Hill, REM and The Prodigy as well as U2 - to take place at the launch of the G8 summit in Cologne.
So far, all that has been confirmed is that Bono will present a petition to the summit on June 19 calling on the leading industrial powers to cancel third world debts.
According to Jubilee 2000, they have received over 8 million signatures to their online petition.
