The Magic Numbers played two tiny shows at Joe’s Pub in New York last night (August 30).

The band’s second performance was rapturously received by the 160-person audience, with songs such as ‘Forever Lost’, ‘Which Way To Happy’ and ‘I See You, You See Me’.

They also previewed a couple of songs from their forthcoming second album, including the lead single ‘Take A Chance’.

Encouraging the audience to sing along, frontman Romeo Stodart said: "We’re on tour with The Flaming Lips, and they’re the kings of getting people to sing."

The band were reluctant to leave the stage, even playing requests from audience members.

"We’d play here all night if they let us," admitted Stodart during the second show of the evening. "I think you are a better audience than the last. I don’t know if that’s okay to say."

The band completed their near-two-hour set with a rousing rendition of ‘The Beard’.
