Rapper sentenced to life in prison
He is convicted for drug distribution
Rapper Twisted Black has been sentenced to life in prison after being convicted of conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine.
Black (real name Tommy Burns) went on trial on Monday (November 27).
Alleged co–conspirator Courtney Iglehart testified how he had met Burns at a Texan recording studio and paid him $4,500 (£2,286) in February 2005 for a quarter of a kilogram of powder cocaine.
In July, the rapper was arrested by officers with the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) in Midland, Texas.
According to the Midland Reporter – Telegram a witness testified that Twisted Black and aspiring rapper Zet (real name Zeteral Perkins) were dealing up to a kilo of cocaine every three weeks over the course of 2005.
His untitled debut album is still set to be released next year.
